In these 5 days and 4 nights, you will visit many amazing sites in a short time. This includes the High Atlas Mountains, the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, the Ait-Ben-Haddou Kasbah, and Ouarzazate city. Additionally, you will explore the Draa Valley, the longest river in Morocco, Rissani town, and the Merzouga Sahara Desert. Here, you can ride camels, witness magical sunsets and sunrises, and spend the night in a desert camp. You will also explore the Sahara Desert of Merzouga in a 4×4 car. Finally, you will visit the Dades Valley, Todra Gorges, and Amridil Kasbah before the tour ends in Marrakech.

Itinerary :

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Telouat Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate The 5-day Morocco desert tour starts with an early pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Marrakech. You will then drive through the fascinating High Atlas Mountains and Tizi-N-Tichka pass, making stops for panoramic views of the breathtaking landscapes.

After that, you will visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Kasbah has appeared in many movies, including Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as TV series like Game of Thrones. You will then head to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Desert.” Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Agdz – Draa Valley – Nkob – Merzouga Desert – Camel Trekking – Overnight in a Luxury Camp After breakfast, you will explore the city of Ouarzazate. First, you will visit the Atlas Studios, where various famous movies were shot, and the Taourirt Kasbah, an ancient fortified mud castle. You will then depart towards Agdz and join the Draa Valley, the longest river in Morocco. You will drive along it, stopping for panoramic views of the palm tree groves, spectacular Kasbahs, and Berber villages. Free time for lunch in Nkob or Alnif.

After lunch, you will continue to the Merzouga Sahara through Rissani. When you reach the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, you will switch to camels to cross the Sahara Desert. A stop will be made on top of a big dune to observe the magical sunset. You will then continue to the camp, which combines the traditional tents of nomads with the luxury of a hotel. In the campsite, you can enjoy Berber drum music while dancing around the campfire under an open sky of shining stars. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.

Day 3: Explore Merzouga Region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga Lake – Erg Chebbi – Palm Grove Waking up early in the morning is a must to contemplate the beautiful sunrise in the middle of the desert. After breakfast, you will return on camels to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. The day is dedicated to exploring the Merzouga region, which boasts incredible sites such as sand dunes, a wild lake, mines, fossil areas, and fabulous oases, ideal for various outdoor activities.

First, you will start your journey in Merzouga by driving off-road to visit an ancient eyeliner mine. Then, you will visit the nomads in their handmade woven tents and learn about their lifestyle while enjoying Berber tea. Your next destination is Khamlia village, where you will enjoy Gnaoua music and dancing performances. The inhabitants of Khamlia originate from sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger. After lunch in a restaurant, you will take a stroll in a palm grove and then drive a few kilometers to see the wild lake of Merzouga, also called Flamingos Lake. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After breakfast, we leave the desert to visit Rissani town, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains a major trading center in the region, with a large souk that is lively on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

After a stroll in Rissani Souk, we continue to Erfoud to visit one of the workshops of fossilized marble. We then drive through Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves to reach the Todra Gorges. The Todra River has carved out a grand canyon through the mountains, creating high red cliff-sided walls. These gorges are ideal for rock climbers. Feel free to wander in the gorges and appreciate the beauty of the landscape. After lunch in a restaurant, we continue to the Dades Valley through Boumalne Dades, making inevitable stops at the “monkey fingers” rock formation and a spot atop a mountain overlooking the Dades Valley. Finally, dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Palm Groves of Skoura – Amridil Kasbah – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

On the last day of your Morocco desert tour, we continue to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Rose Valley. A Rose Festival is held annually in May, where locals offer their rose products, including perfumes, rose water, oil, and cosmetic products. We then drive along various Kasbahs, including Amridil Kasbah, surrounded by the palm tree groves of Skoura. We reach Ouarzazate, where you will have free time for lunch in town. We then continue to Marrakech by driving through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains. Finally, we drop you off at your accommodation or the airport in Marrakech, marking the end of the tour.
