7 Days Tour in Morocco From Fes (One Week Itinerary)

Itinerary :

Day 1: Fes – Meknes – Volubilis Ruins – Chefchaouen

The 7-day tour starts with an early pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Fes. We will then depart to visit Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of the imperial cities. In Meknes, we will visit Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After some free time for lunch, we will drive 30 km to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, which is well-preserved and recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It features many beautiful mosaics, ancient pillars, and archways.

After strolling through the ruins, we will head north through Ouazzane to reach Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains, also known as the Blue City. The city is famous for its buildings and alleyways painted in blue. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Rabat, the Capital

After breakfast, feel free to wander through the blue city. We will then drive to Rabat through the Rif Mountains. Rabat, one of the imperial cities in Morocco and the current capital, is located in northwest Morocco on the Atlantic coast. You will visit the highlights of the city, including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 3: Rabat – Casablanca – Marrakech

After breakfast, we will depart from Rabat and drive along the coastline to Casablanca, the economic center and largest city in Morocco. First, we will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the second-largest mosque on the continent. We will then visit the Casablanca Corniche before driving inland to Marrakech, the Red City and one of the imperial cities. Feel free to wander through the famous Jemaa El-Fna square. Overnight stay in a hotel or riad.

Day 4: Guided Tour of Marrakech

After a warm breakfast, we will explore the highlights of Marrakech with a local guide. The visit includes the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque. We will also stroll through the largest traditional souk in Morocco. After some free time for lunch near Jemaa El-Fna square, we will visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest in Marrakech, and the Majorelle Garden. Finally, we will transfer you to your accommodation. Feel free to wander through Jemaa El-Fna on your own.

Day 5: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech early in the morning and drive through the fascinating High Atlas Mountains and Tizi-N-Tichka pass. We will then visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Kasbah has appeared in many movies, including Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as TV series like Game of Thrones. After lunch in a local restaurant, we will head to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Desert.” Dinner and overnight stay in Ouarzazate.

Day 6: Ouarzazate – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we will visit the studios in Ouarzazate where many famous movies were shot. We will then drive to the Todra Gorges, a grand canyon carved out by the Todra River, ideal for rock climbers. After lunch in a restaurant, we will continue to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Here, you will ride camels and spend the night in a desert camp in the middle of the desert, enjoying a magical sunset and sunrise in the Sahara. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.

Day 7: Merzouga Desert – Cedars Forest – Ifrane – Fes

Waking up early to watch the sunrise is a must. After breakfast, we will leave the desert and drive through the Ziz Valley, with stops for panoramic views. We will continue to Midelt for lunch and then drive through the Cedars Forest, where you can see the Barbary macaques. Our next stop is Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before finally heading back to Fes. The tour ends with a drop-off at your accommodation in Fes.
