13 Days Around Morocco Tour from Casablanca

 In these 13 days / 12 nights you will visit almost every fabulous place in Morocco. Starting the tour from north Morocco, visiting the city of Casablanca. Then Rabat the capital of Morocco, and Chefchaouen the blue city. In addition to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, Meknes the Ismaili capital, and Fes the cultural city. Then we head south, visiting the Switzerland of Morocco Ifrane, and also the cedars forest. As well as visiting Midelt, the Ziz valley, Rissani traditional market and Erfoud the fossils town. Furthermore, you will visit the Sahara desert of Merzouga. In which you will ride camels, spend the night in a luxury camp, in the middle of the desert. Enjoy magical sunset and sunrise in the Sahara. Also visit the Todra and Dades gorges, the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Moreover, you will cross the High Atlas mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Finally, guided tour in Marrakech and Essaouira cities. The tour ends in Casablanca.

Itinerary :

1st Day: Arrival in Casablanca

On the first day of your 13-day Morocco tour, we will pick you up from the airport, port, or your accommodation in Casablanca. Casablanca is the economic center and the largest city in Morocco. We will start by visiting the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, located on the west coast of the city. It overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. After some free time for lunch, we will explore the city and visit the beautiful Corniche of Casablanca. You will stay overnight in a hotel.

2nd Day: Casablanca – Rabat – Assilah

After breakfast, we will drive along the coastline to Rabat, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the current capital. We will visit the highlights of Rabat, including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. After some free time for lunch, we will head north to the beautiful seaside city of Assilah. You will stay overnight in a hotel.

3rd Day: Assilah – Tangier – Rif Mountains – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we will depart from Assilah and drive along the coastline to Tangier, also known as “the bride of the north.” Located northwest, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean off Cape Spartel, in the Strait of Gibraltar, we will explore the city and visit the Cave of Hercules and Cape Spartel. After some free time for lunch, we will drive inland to Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan and the Rif Mountains, with stops for panoramic views. You will stay overnight in a hotel in Chefchaouen.

4th Day: Sightseeing in Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we will explore Chefchaouen, the blue city, also known as Achaoun, which means “horns” in Berber. Located in the Rif Mountains in northwest Morocco, it is famous for its buildings and alleyways painted in white and blue. We will stroll through its charming old Medina, with its beautiful blue doors and whitewashed walls. After some free time for lunch, you can hike to the Spanish Mosque, located on high ground, offering a spectacular view of the entire blue city. You will return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

5th Day: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, you can wander through the beautiful alleyways of Chefchaouen. We will then drive to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its beautiful mosaics, ancient pillars, and archways. After exploring the ruins, we will drive 30 km to visit Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of the imperial cities. We will visit Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. We will then head to Fes, where you will stay overnight in a Riad.

6th Day: Guided Tour of Fes

On the 6th day of our 13-day tour around Morocco, we will explore the highlights of Fes, one of the imperial cities and the cultural and religious center of Morocco. We will start by visiting the Royal Palace gate, then the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will visit the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), the entrance to the old Medina, which is a labyrinth of alleyways and streets. Inside the Medina, we will visit the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and finally the Quaraouin Mosque and University, the oldest university in the world. After leaving the Medina, we will visit the Jewish Quarter (the Mellah). In the afternoon, we will drive to an ancient fortress for a panoramic view of the Medina and the city of Fes. You will return to your Riad for an overnight stay.

7th day : Fes – Ifrane – Cedars forest- Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga Sahara

After breakfast, we continue our 13 days around Morocco tour south through Imouzzer, to visit Ifrane. The city is famous for its low temperature, snow and the alpine-style architecture houses. No wonder it is called the Switzerland of Morocco. After that, we continue to cedars forest, where the Barbary macaques live. Feel free to feed them, while wandering in the forest. Later, we continue to Midelt, where we will have a free time for lunch. Then we drive to Merzouga through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz valley. With stops for panoramic views.

In the afternoon, we reach the Sahara desert of Merzouga, where you switch to camels. Then cross the sandy desert, and make a stop on top of a high dune to enjoy the sunset. Finally, you continue to the desert camp. Which is a combination between the traditional tents of nomads, and the luxury a hotel has. Where you can enjoy the Berber drums music, while dancing around the campfire, under vast open sky of stars. Dinner and overnight in the camp.


8th day : Explore Merzouga region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi – palm grove

Wake up early in the morning is a must do, in order to contemplate the beautiful sunrise, in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast. Then you return on camels to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. We dedicate the 8th day of your 13 days Around Morocco tour, to explore the region of Merzouga. The area has so many incredible sites, from sand dunes, wild lake, mines, fossils areas to fabulous oases. Which are ideal places for so many outdoor activities.

Firstly we start our journey in Merzouga, by driving off-road to visit an ancient eyeliner mine. Then we pay the nomads a visit, in their handmade woven tent. Learn how they live while drinking a Berber tea. Our next destination is the Khamlia village, where you will enjoy the Gnaoua music. And dancing performances of its inhabitants originating from sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan and Niger. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. After that we take a stroll in palm trees grove. Then drive a few kilometres to see the wild lake of Merzouga, also called flamingos lake. Dinner and overnight In a hotel.


9th day : Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley 

After breakfast, we leave the desert to visit Rissani town, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani still a major trading center in the region, with a large souk.

After a stroll in Rissani souk, we continue to Erfoud where we visit one of the workshops of fossilized marble. Then we drive through Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves, to reach the Todra Gorges. The course of Todra river has carved out a grand high red cliff-sided canyon through the mountains. These gorges are an ideal place for rock climbers. Feel free to wander in the gorges and appreciate the beauty of the landscape. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. Then we continue to the Dades valley, through Boumalne Dades. Inevitable stops at the “monkey fingers” rock formation, and for the view of the Dades valley. Finally, dinner and overnight in a hotel.


10th day : Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Palm Groves of Skoura – Ouarzazate Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah- Telouet – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech  

After breakfast, we continue our trip to Kalaa Magouna, to visit the Rose valley. A Rose Festival is held annually in May. Where the locals offer their rose products, from perfumes, rose water, oil, to cosmetic products. We then drive through the palm groves of Skoura, before we reach Ouarzazate, where we visit the studios, in which famous movies were shot.

We depart to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified village recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Furthermore, the Kasbah has appeared in many movies including : Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy…etc. And TV series including Game Of Thrones. After that we continue to Marrakech, by driving through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, and the High Atlas Mountains. Stops will be made for lunch, and to take pictures at interesting spots. Overnight stay in a Riad in Marrakech.


11th day : Guided tour sightseeing Marrakech 

After a warm breakfast, we will be exploring the Highlights of Marrakech with a local guide. The city is considered one of the four imperial cities in Morocco. The visit includes : the Bahia Palace , Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef Quranic mosque. And stroll in the largest traditional souk in Morocco. Free time for lunch near the Jemaa El-Fna square. Later on you visit the Koutoubia mosque the largest in Marrakech, and the Majorelle garden. Finally, transfer to your accommodation. Feel free to wander in Jemaa El-Fna on your own.


12th day : Marrakech – Essaouira

After breakfast, we drive west to Essaouira city. On the way we will make stops to see the Argan trees goats. And also for panoramic views. We reach the Essaouira city, formerly Mogador, one of the important coastal cities in Morocco. In which we visit the fishing port, the ancient ramparts with cannons, and also the old Medina. Finally, transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay in Essaouira.


13th day : Essaouira – Casablanca

In the last day of your 13 days around Morocco tour, we depart from Essaouira and drive along the coastline. Stops will be made for panoramic views. Finally, we reach Casablanca airport. End of the tour.
